Hello everyone,

We want to install a substructure for a drywall suspension under a wooden beam ceiling. The setup of the substructure will be quite traditional, meaning first the base battens and then the counter battens. To align the counter battens, we would like to use adjustable screws. The wooden battens of the substructure are 4 x 6 cm (1.6 x 2.4 inches). Are there suitable adjustable screws for 4 x 6 cm (1.6 x 2.4 inches) battens? From the technical data sheets, I usually read that the thickness of the lower wood should be about 2.5 cm (1 inch), and if it is thicker, the screws are too long for the total height of 8 cm (3.1 inches) of the substructure.

Thank you very much for your answers. I just can’t make sense of it.

Best regards
