Good evening,

I hope to get some help with my issue. Our property is a corner lot. The old house was demolished, and we have built a new one on the site. Now the problem is that the old house had its address from the street below, but we have now been assigned an address from the street above, since the front door and the garage are located there.

Here comes my headache: Telekom knows my new address, but I can only check service availability using the old address. My new address theoretically exists in Telekom’s system, but with all other providers, only the “old” address is available to check availability and to sign a new contract.

How should I best proceed? Are there any issues if I keep the contract under the old address? Or does anyone have another idea on how to solve this problem?

I have already called Telekom’s customer service for home-building customers at least five times. They just say the connection is inside the house and that anything beyond that is not their responsibility. I feel a bit stuck right now. Thank you very much in advance.

Hello, where exactly is the problem? As long as the technician can find your house to connect the cables, everything is fine. The invoice will be sent later by email.

Best regards,

In this case, I would proceed with the application using the old address. The technician will find the address, possibly after a brief phone call beforehand, and afterwards you can arrange an address change with them.

We applied using the plot number. Are you familiar with it?

No problem. Provide the old address. The technician will find you!

The technician, yes, but what about the postal service? I don’t think they will hand you a package if it has a different address on it.
