Hello! [emoji137]

My partner and I are currently looking for a suitable building plot.
In the new development area of our preferred location, there is actually a plot that we like in terms of location, size, and orientation. However, we know that the soil is damp/wet because several standard basements in this area tend to be wet.

We would prefer not to do without a basement.

Does anyone have experience with the additional costs of a waterproof concrete basement (“white tank”) compared to a regular basement?

It won’t be used as a living space; it might be nice to have a hobby or exercise room there, but that’s not a must.

Thank you in advance [emoji4]

Depending on the size, the total cost of the basement is likely to be between 50,000 and 70,000 euros.

Thank you for the quick response!

Fortunately, that doesn’t sound like excessive additional costs and would probably be financially feasible for us.

Does the type of basement actually affect the different KFW house categories? (55, 40...)

Yes, it is more difficult to meet the various KfW guidelines when building with a basement. A usable basement in particular can become an issue. Your builder will be able to provide you with more detailed information on this.

Hm, I already suspected that, but when the time comes, the builder will definitely be asked the necessary questions. [emoji6]
