Hello everyone,

For our planning, we initially estimated €120 per month for utilities, €25 for property tax, and €160 for electricity.

So far, the costs have been:
€110 electricity installment (including heating and domestic hot water)
€14 waste disposal
€32 water and sewage

Property tax is still pending – what other costs should we expect?

An oil heating system, like pellet or even firewood heating, has a significant drawback: you constantly have to make sure there is enough fuel available. My father has a wood gasification system for an entire old farmhouse. In winter, he has to refill the stove with firewood and relight it once every day. Taking a one-week vacation in winter means the house would freeze and get damaged. The wood doesn’t gather itself either, so he has to spend half the winter cutting wood. If you convert those hours into costs, it would be cheaper to buy the wood ready-cut. (That’s why I also buy my firewood for the fireplace instead of helping him with it...)

Hehe, there was someone here advertising a measuring device for oil tanks 😀
So far, we are satisfied with the brine-water heat pump – even though the investment is obviously questionable. On the other hand, it’s like buying a new car, and people still do that.
