ᐅ Additional Bathroom: Through the Developer or Just Installing the Plumbing?

Hello,
we will have a house built by the developer and would like to install a bathroom of approximately 7 sqm (75 sq ft) in the attic. The developer would charge about 10,000 euros for the bathroom. Are these costs reasonable, or is it significantly cheaper to have only the pipes installed initially and fit the bathroom later? How do you estimate the costs?

Yes, that was misspoken. We will find out the cost of the pipe pre-installation to then decide whether it is financially worthwhile to wait with the bathroom installation.

Surely you’re not seriously expecting a package price where the remaining 80% of the bathroom costs just a small extra amount (?)

No, my question was simply based on wanting to know your assessment of whether it would be worthwhile to have a "basic" standard bathroom installed later through self-labor or separate companies, or if it would not be worthwhile and is better done directly through the developer.

If the children are currently in kindergarten and are expected to have their own floor with a bathroom later as high school students, then definitely waiting is worthwhile. The more urgently this bathroom will be needed in about two years, the less sensible waiting becomes. The advantage is at least that if the bathroom is built soon, it will be stylish according to future trends rather than today’s. Ceramic fixtures prices will not skyrocket by then, and neither will tile installers’ wages.

We also had the preparation with pipes and ventilation ducts installed in the upper floor in advance. This cost an additional 500 euros, which we didn’t hesitate to pay. This way, we have the flexibility to use it whenever needed.
