Good evening everyone!

I wanted to quickly ask about the best sequence for applying the acrylic sealant between the ceiling and wall in a new build.

The ceilings in our new build will be covered with paintable fleece wallpaper and then painted white. The walls will have non-paintable fleece wallpaper (partly patterned).

When is the most practical time to apply the acrylic sealant between ceiling and wall?

I would assume the following sequence:

- Apply paintable fleece wallpaper to the ceiling
- Apply acrylic sealant between ceiling and wall
- Paint the ceiling white, including the acrylic joint at the edge
- Apply fleece wallpaper to the walls

Yes, the approach is basically correct. However, it will still crack within 6 months or earlier and continue to do so repeatedly.

And what am I supposed to do about it?

Nothing, as long as the house is drying (about 2 years), it is basically pointless to do anything. You can redo it occasionally and observe. Once no more cracks appear, the house is dry and then it can be properly addressed.

But one should definitely apply an acrylic joint, right?

Stick on a decorative molding strip
