Hello everyone,
we have been facing a problem for some time now. Since I am stuck, I am hoping this great forum can help us.
We want to install heavy curtains in the living room, partly for aesthetic reasons and partly in hopes of improving the room’s acoustics.

We would like to hang the curtains at points B and C and then be able to draw them apart towards points A and D as needed. Of course, it should also be possible to close the curtains between B and C. At points B and C, the curtain would need to be able to go around the corner. The only solution I know of is a ceiling-mounted track.
But this leads us to the next problem.

We have a continuous soffit (drywall construction) installed around the room. This is obviously not designed to support any attachments.
Therefore, the curtain fixtures must be mounted on the wall. However, there are roller shutters installed everywhere, with shutter boxes above the windows. These boxes project far enough that, judging by the construction photos, there is only about 5cm (2 inches) of space left before the soffit begins.
This means the only possible mounting points are to the left and right beside the windows, requiring a distance of more than 3m (10 feet) to be bridged to the back wall.
Combined with the need to run the curtains around the corner, I have not yet found a solution to make this work.
I hope someone here has dealt with a similar issue or might have a suggestion.
Thanks and best regards
