Hello,

We will be moving into our new condominium next year and soon need to finalize the bathroom layout. We have already given it a lot of thought and decided to place the shower on the left side of the bathroom. Now we are debating whether to position the sink next to the bathtub or to swap the sink and toilet so they are aligned. In the first option, the toilet is the first thing you see when entering the bathroom. On the other hand, this layout would allow us to use the shelf to the left of the sink, above the bathtub.

I have already planned everything with the help of a building planner and, as mentioned, am only unsure about the sink/toilet arrangement. What do you think? The bathroom measures 4.01 m x 2 m (13.2 ft x 6.6 ft).

I appreciate any ideas or suggestions (also on other points).

Best regards

I don’t have one, but @kbt09 does and highly recommends it. This is addressed to her.
It should simply swing inward into the shower enclosure, so there is no moisture load on the tiled floor outside.

An inward-opening shower door is not a bad idea, but won’t the space in a square shower be a bit tight? Even if it measures 100 x 100 cm (39 x 39 inches)?

Could the installation wall frame be shorter if the washbasin is moved?

Thanks @ypg

We are currently considering sticking with the original layout (shower on the left when viewed from outside) and rotating the bathtub 90 degrees toward the left wall. This would leave us with 40 cm (16 inches) between the bathtub and the toilet and sink, but no one would be standing directly opposite.

We will have a 90cm x 90cm (35in x 35in) shower, which I also think is too small. The pre-wall installation could also be shortened. Best regards

I sketched an idea of rotating the bathtub. What do you think?

We also have a 90 x 90 shower. Hmm... I’m afraid that 50 cm (20 inches) might be too narrow and could feel cramped over time. Try using a 3D bathroom planner.
