Hello,
We will be moving into our new condominium next year and soon need to finalize the bathroom layout. We have already given it a lot of thought and decided to place the shower on the left side of the bathroom. Now we are debating whether to position the sink next to the bathtub or to swap the sink and toilet so they are aligned. In the first option, the toilet is the first thing you see when entering the bathroom. On the other hand, this layout would allow us to use the shelf to the left of the sink, above the bathtub.
I have already planned everything with the help of a building planner and, as mentioned, am only unsure about the sink/toilet arrangement. What do you think? The bathroom measures 4.01 m x 2 m (13.2 ft x 6.6 ft).
I appreciate any ideas or suggestions (also on other points).
Best regards

Badneuling263 Dec 2016 15:49Hello, I am grateful for any tips or opinions.
There are two of us now and eventually three.
We can no longer make any changes to the door position.
Ypg, I look forward to your suggestion.

Badneuling264 Dec 2016 10:56Good morning. The 2 meters (6.6 feet) are the structural dimensions, but we have already measured and it fits. The door is 88 cm (35 inches) wide.
The drainpipe is located to the far right next to the window. However, for the shower, we will use the drainpipe from the hallway (opposite the room) because otherwise, we could not achieve enough slope. This option has already been approved. Now it is only a matter of placing the washbasin and the toilet.

As I have already mentioned, the passage between the shower corner and the washbasin (or toilet), which are mounted on a frame wall, will be a bottleneck.
I have seen bathrooms 2.20 meters (7 ft 3 in) wide several times, but those were already plastered and tiled...
In your case, you can only realistically expect about 1.95 meters (6 ft 5 in) of width.
A 17 cm (7 in) tiled frame wall, a 48 cm (19 in) washbasin, and a 90 cm (35 in) shower add up to 1.55 meters (5 ft 1 in), leaving 40 cm (16 in) for the passage.
This has nothing to do with whether the door opens to the left or right.
From your perspective views, the tightness is not visible.
You should at least have the door open outward...
