I want to run an electrical cable all around the roof box to operate LED spotlights.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using 3-core or 5-core cables for lighting?

GU10 sockets are usually supplied with cables.

Seriously? You’re hanging your lights on bare sockets?

Yes, really,

even when the base is installed in a housing or inside a lamp, it looks no different inside. GU10 comes with a cable.

Do I understand this correctly: NYM cable -> terminal block -> extension cable -> terminal block -> GU10 socket? So if there is enough cable length, why do it this way?

The rigid NYM cable was run up to the roof overhang and then extended with a flexible two-core cable. It looked like speaker cable with a corresponding cross-section. This cable was easier to bend and connect to the GU10 sockets.

The end customer doesn’t need to worry about the internal construction. Cable in the terminal, done.

Doesn’t matter either way. Still, they are almost always just bare sockets with wires attached.
