Hello,
has anyone examined the alternative verification of a KfW Efficiency House 55 based on reference values, which will come into effect from April 2016? Reference values are given to achieve a KfW 55 house:
Roof surfaces, top floor ceiling, dormers U ≤ 0.14 W/(m²·K)
Windows and other transparent components Uw ≤ 0.90 W/(m²·K)
Exterior walls, floor ceilings facing the outside air U ≤ 0.20 W/(m²·K)
However, the U-values do not seem very good to me, especially since the requirements will be tightened again by 20–25% in 2016 and rather correspond to the current KfW 40 standard. In my opinion, the U-values of a current KfW 40 house are considerably better.
I would appreciate your opinions. Thank you.
Best regards

This would be new and, according to the KfW information sheet for KfW55 houses, is not yet known there. It only states that the current conditions apply at the time of contract signing.
Right now, there is a repayment bonus of 5% for KfW55, which doubles to 10% when reaching KfW40, and the bonus is limited to EUR 2,500 (approximately 2,750 USD) or EUR 5,000 (approximately 5,500 USD).
The doubling of the loan amount for KfW55 from EUR 50,000 (approximately 55,000 USD) to EUR 100,000 (approximately 110,000 USD) is NOT a bonus.

According to the summary for the "153iger" on the KfW website, the funding for KfW70 is being discontinued. Instead, the KfW website states that funding for the KfW40 plus house is being introduced with an "attractive repayment subsidy."
For this reason, it is assumed that the repayment subsidy for KfW55 will be discontinued.

If I understand correctly, the "KFW Energy-Efficient House 55 based on reference values" simplifies the KFW verification process significantly. You only need to demonstrate the required insulation values for exterior walls, roof, windows, and an appropriate heating system. I hope I got that right. Who needs to certify this proof—does an architect suffice, or is an energy consultant required?
What happens if, for example, the windows exceed the specified values? Can this be compensated by better-insulated exterior walls, or does that quickly lead back to the more complex calculation?
