Manu1976In terms of price, you can get both a good prefab house and a solid masonry house.
First, think about what you want, the advantages and disadvantages of each construction method, and which suits you better. Then, continue from there. Visit prefab house exhibitions, get advice, and request quotes.
Personally, I find split-level homes attractive but not very practical. A flat roof is also not my preference because it loses usable space and I simply don’t like it – but that’s a matter of taste.

... At first, we considered a spacious gable roof house, but now we actually prefer a flat roof house with 2 or 3 staggered floors.
Because of 2 children, a hobby room, and a study, we need a bit more space (>200 sqm (2150 sq ft))... Is a flat roof building with 2 or 3 stories allowed according to the zoning plan / building permit?
If you calculate an average of 15 sqm (160 sq ft) per room for hobbies, work, and children, then 160 sqm (1720 sq ft) should be enough.
Anything beyond that is extra space to breathe and rooms that feel good—but not necessary.

Yes. Depending on the roof slope and the knee wall height, you can make good use of the space up there instead of just turning it into storage. For example, we use the space under the roof as a nice playroom/TV room for the kids. I personally find that more pleasant and cozy than, for example, a basement (which we don’t have).

We don’t really like a standard flat-roof house either, but it does help with offsetting.
What we usually like are the horseshoe-shaped houses. We will probably visit their model village today to take a closer look...
P.S. I just looked it up -> Only 2 full stories are allowed.

Do you have any other good alternatives in mind?
