Hello everyone,
We plan to start building our single-family house next year and are currently working on an initial floor plan design.
I have sketched many versions with various stair designs and house orientations. At the moment, the attached floor plan is my favorite, featuring a landing staircase and east-west orientation. I would appreciate your thoughts and critiques on this layout. I am especially unsure whether the spacious entrance area with the small gallery and the open void works well in your opinion. The kitchen and bathroom are not fully finalized yet.
Thank you for your feedback!

What is the key question about the floor plan summarized in 130 characters?
I would like to know the general opinion about the floor plan since it was not created by an architect but by me as a layperson. The result will serve as input for a general contractor and as a basis for discussion. Before that, I would like to hear your opinions.

Thanks for the feedback.
@ypg: The issue is somewhat the size of the landing staircase. I’m assuming a length of about 2.90m (9.5 feet); with that, rotating the staircase would make the hallway quite large, and access to the bathroom becomes problematic. However, I actually find the kitchen orientation quite good. I lose direct access to the terrace from the west side, but it looks right inside.
I have now widened the hallway in my floor plan so it can function as a cloakroom. From my point of view, it’s well and usefully located there. At the same time, I rotated the landing staircase 180° and sketched the kitchen similarly to what you suggested. I haven’t looked at the upper floor in detail yet, but it should be feasible.

Attached is also an overview of the plot. The orientation is not exactly north-south but rotated about 25°.
Thanks for your feedback, regards,
Morty

I consider it a matter of basic courtesy that the original poster points out where the story begins. Since the effort has already been made for me, I am happy to provide it: https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/efh-160-qm-mit-zwei-vollgeschosse-ohne-keller.28249/

I also found it in the green section, but I’d rather wait and see if it gets posted here 😉

Is it necessary? For what purpose? I find it—especially compared to those who responded earlier—to be rude to make others scroll back and recap the discussion thread. If someone returns to their topic after a six-week break, not everyone can just retrieve that from the cache of their 11ant memory. Most people are neurotypical and don’t have this feature. ;-)

Sorry about that. I created separate email addresses for the house construction and immediately forgot the passwords. In the meantime, there have been several changes regarding the property (surveying, slight adjustments to the building permit / planning permission) and the floor plan. I assumed the old thread would no longer be helpful...
