Hello everyone,

I am considering buying a Nutid HIN4T. The price is excellent for an induction cooktop, and the advantages of induction clearly outweigh those of my current old electric cooktop.

The question I have is how the cooktop is connected. Do I need a compatible socket on my old oven, or are there simply wires coming from the cooktop that connect directly to the three-phase alternating current (high-voltage power)? I understand that this is a job for an electrician. I just want to make sure I don’t buy a device that is incompatible with my oven.

Hi,

the cooktop operates independently, so it is not connected to your oven. If you still have an older oven with rotary knobs on the front, these will simply be non-functional. You or your electrician will need a connection cable to hook the cooktop directly to the appliance socket. Don’t be surprised that a cable is never included with the cooktop—you’re not supposed to install it yourself. 😉

By the way, you should decide quickly on an HIN4T. 😎
