I can’t say anything about that. First, we need to wait and see what stops working as usual.

Hello, unfortunately, you have made things worse instead of better. I have to click from page 1 onwards. Then I cannot mark the new posts as read,

I had already tried to significantly reduce my online time and let this forum be just a forum, but I ended up falling back into my old habits... However, the new, completely messed-up forum design will most likely help me overcome my inner resistance and neither read nor write here anymore...

And I keep wondering what drives operators and developers to make such mistakes. It’s like if VW released a car with unreliable steering and brakes... what use would that be? And above all... why would someone do that if they have a financial interest in it?

A small glimmer of hope to start with: This forum uses the XenForo software – technically the best currently available on the market. Unfortunately, the administration has chosen to remove almost all useful and user-friendly features. Given the restrictive approach toward editing comments, links, and emojis (including penalties), this step no longer surprises me. However, it remains unclear why the housebuilding forum with the strongest community is being driven into the ground for no apparent reason.

I will publish my promised structural update in a month; after that, I will decide whether to post any further updates here. Considering the current state of the forum, that seems unlikely.

Yes, I just checked again because I updated my Apple device. Normally, I use my iPhone... really bad experience... you can’t handle personal emails at all, so you can’t send me an address to which I could send the scarf. However, with the cold snap, the dog comes first 😉

What really affects me here: the accounts, meaning the users/nicknames, are now blank. You can’t track my 30,000 posts or more. You might think, “no one cares anyway.”
However, the history of posts is the status of every user, for example, important for newcomers to assess users’ skills and relevance based on their contributions. There is also no longer a way to link to my topics... I remember “my list” was very popular, then this or that feature... now all no longer accessible. There were quite a few useful tools here. But now the necessary tools are missing.

@admin, you seem to have taken the soul out of this forum. It’s not about design, it’s about content. And that content is the users here. Not the interchangeable design.
Secondly, the functions. This forum has always felt somewhat authoritarian. What we tolerated so far: private messages only after 150/200 posts, no link embedding like in the early 2000s, so rather outdated, editing by moderators controlling users. We put up with all of this.

Overnight, the forum dropped from first place among active forums to much lower. Maybe you want to wait it out. But many who provided value to you here, meaning to the users, and helped you generate income, now have no reason to stay.

However, the legends of the written posts represent each user’s status, which is important especially for newcomers, as it allows them to assess users’ skills and reliability based on their contributions. Also, there is no longer a way to link to my topics... I remember that "my list" was very well received, then one feature or another... now none of that is accessible anymore. There were several tools that made working here quite effective. But now the essential tools are simply missing.

Don’t worry, everything will be restored. We are already working on it, and many other things will be added as well.

Are you sure it’s still XenForo, @roteweste?

Why not parameterize BEFORE a relaunch, preferably with a test environment? Why go live just like that?

And once again a malfunction... the now visible post numbers within a thread do not have valid links attached.
