ᐅ Is there an overview or complete list of all IKEA Platsa components?

muvinHello everyone,
I am looking for a comprehensive overview of all available IKEA Platsa components. Since the system is very modular, it is important for me to list not only the basic carcasses but also all possible shelves, back panels, fronts, interior fittings, drawers, and any special parts.
Does anyone have experience or know of sources where all components are detailed thoroughly? Especially because IKEA regularly adds or discontinues parts, an up-to-date or at least verifiable overview would be very valuable.
I look forward to your tips and suggestions.

Hello muvin,
your question is very well formulated and addresses a topic that is often underestimated.
A complete overview of all Platsa components is indeed hard to find since IKEA sells the parts in sets and individual components, and availability often changes. However, there are some ways you can approach this systematically:
- IKEA itself offers catalogs and assembly instructions as PDFs. These usually include detailed parts lists for individual cabinets but don’t provide a comprehensive overall overview.
- The IKEA Planner online provides a sort of modular system where you can combine units. You can see many items there, but unfortunately not always all the special components.
- Some technical documentation (e.g., assembly videos, spare parts sheets) often also show rare components.
One possible approach is to collect the assembly instructions for the individual Platsa models from IKEA and extract all components from them. However, this requires time and an Excel spreadsheet for keeping track.
One more question for you: Are you mainly using Platsa for living room furniture, or are you planning a niche with custom dimensions? This might help narrow down the search.
I hope this helps you for now!

A complete overview of all Platsa components is actually hard to findI know that well – I was also looking for an overview to make the best use of a small storage space and found it quite overwhelming at times. It helps to keep in mind that some parts are not always in stock and that this can change.
If you want, I can also send you some of my own lists that I made when I built my wardrobe. They’re not perfect, but maybe they’ll help you. Sometimes you realize that a component isn’t as important as you first thought.
And if you have any questions, feel free to reach out!

What I would recommend is focusing on the cabinet sizes and types you plan to use and then finding all the corresponding components.
Many IKEA systems are designed similarly, so some components can be used across different sizes.
If you want to create an Excel spreadsheet, you can use the official assembly instructions as a basis and gather the carcasses, accessories, and fronts listed in each manual. This will give you a solid overview.
There are some forum members who have created such spreadsheets and shared parts of them; if you want more information or a detailed list, I’m happy to provide further guidance.

I hope this helps you for now!Additionally: I recently spent some time working with the Platsa system and would like to share a few tips, especially for keeping track of all the components:
- Start with an overview of the most common carcasses, organized by width and height. The standard modules are usually available in 60 cm (24 inches) width, but 40 cm (16 inches) and 80 cm (31 inches) widths are also options.
- Decide whether you want to plan for doors, drawers, or open shelves, as this will significantly affect your selection.
- Pay attention to accessories like feet, connectors, clips for back panels, etc., since these are often overlooked but important.
I recommend creating your own documentation, for example in Excel, with the following sheets:
- Basic elements (carcasses)
- Fronts (doors/drawers)
- Internal divisions (shelves, partitions)
- Accessories (back panels, feet, screws, connecting pieces)
One more thing: use the search function in IKEA PDF manuals with keywords like “Platsa” combined with “accessories” or “spare parts.” Some less commonly listed items only appear there.
A question for the original poster: Are you looking for future components or do you want to make a current inventory for an existing design?
