Hello everyone,

I am currently looking into the different versions of the Ikea Brimnes range and trying to better understand their differences. Specifically, I want to know how the Brimnes variants differ in terms of design, features, and functionality, as well as measurements and materials used. I have already checked the Ikea website and various stores, but the differences are sometimes not very clear, especially since the variants include different types of furniture (e.g., wardrobe, chest of drawers, bed frame).

Does anyone have experience with the different versions or can provide a summary? It would be particularly helpful to see a comparison between the Brimnes models with and without drawers and the various door options. Thank you in advance!

Hello Sejefo,

the main difference between the BRIMNES variants is that they are offered as different types of furniture: wardrobes, dressers, bed frames, and TV stands. Within the wardrobes, there are differences in storage options (with or without drawers), doors (sliding or hinged), and sizes. The materials are mostly wood veneer or coated particleboard, with a very clean, white design. Dimensions and features vary depending on the model and intended use.

Hey Sejefo, the BRIMNES topic is really interesting! 🙂

I recently got the BRIMNES wardrobe with drawers and it’s really great! The drawers provide excellent storage space, and compared to the version without drawers, the wardrobe looks much more practical.

What I can tell you:
- There are BRIMNES wardrobes with hinged doors and others with sliding doors, depending on your needs.
- The dressers come in different heights and widths, with or without doors.
- The bed frames mainly vary by size and whether they include drawer storage.

So, if you want some extra storage in a piece of furniture, the versions with drawers are definitely recommended. Good luck finding the BRIMNES item that suits you!

In my opinion, the entire BRIMNES range is somewhat overrated. Sure, the versions differ in doors, drawers, and sizes, but in the end, these are more cosmetic differences than real innovations.

The materials are always particleboard with a laminate finish, nothing particularly high-quality. The fact that some models have drawers and others don’t is more about storage capacity than clever design.

You’re mainly paying for the design and the Ikea brand – which of course some people appreciate and others don’t. If you really prioritize quality and durable design, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Nevertheless, this is common for the price range of BRIMNES and often sufficient for its intended use.

Regarding the differences: BRIMNES models mainly vary in their internal layout – that is, the number and type of drawers, shelves, and doors. There are also versions with sliding doors, which are especially useful in small rooms.

The dimensions also vary: from narrow dressers to wide wardrobes, there is a range of sizes. A practical feature is that the series is very modular and can be easily combined, which helps when choosing.

Exactly, that is one of the main differences to consider before buying.

I would like to add that the variants also offer different interior designs, for example:
- Models with built-in drawer inserts for smaller items
- Models with more shelves and a clothes rail
- Additionally, there are different heights and widths available, designed to be flexible for various room sizes.

The carcass remains similar in all versions, with a white melamine or foil finish on particleboard, which keeps the series affordable. If you prioritize high durability, other product lines might be better, but for everyday use in rental apartments, the BRIMNES options work well.
