Hello everyone, I have a question about the KALLAX doors from IKEA and their warranty: Has anyone had experience with how IKEA handles the replacement of doors if they have a manufacturing defect or transport damage? Specifically, I’m interested in how straightforward or complicated the process is, whether IKEA simply replaces the doors, if returning them is difficult, or if you might end up covering the costs yourself. It would also be helpful to know how long the warranty on KALLAX doors lasts, and if the terms differ in any way from other IKEA products. Thanks in advance for your insights!
That doesn’t sound as bad as you might expect from IKEA products sometimes. By the way, I changed my KALLAX doors on my own because I didn’t like the color anymore 🙂
But joking aside – if anyone has a warranty issue and is being difficult, just stay polite; it often helps.
I’m glad IKEA is cooperating. Hopefully it stays that way! :-)

To answer your question, @rorobert: I contacted customer service by email. After about 3 days, I received a confirmation, and within a week, the new door arrived by courier. So the entire replacement process was completed within 10 days.
It is correct that, in my case, they did not explicitly require a return shipment. I didn’t have to print any return labels or anything like that.
I was also advised to keep the defective door in case it needed to be collected – but that was not necessary in the end.

definitely report the defect immediatelyIn my opinion, that is the most important tip to ensure a successful warranty process.
