Lenkalvin7 Oct 2015 09:37Hello everyone,
I am currently planning a customized design for my IKEA Platsa furniture series and am facing the challenge of choosing the right color. I am particularly interested in which color works best to both emphasize the system’s flexibility and modularity and also maintain a modern and high-quality appearance over time. I am considering classic tones that match the interior as well as more unusual colors that could serve as eye-catchers.
What colors have you chosen for your PLATSA projects, and what experiences have you had with them? I am especially interested in how different colors affect the room’s atmosphere and how easy they are to maintain in everyday use. Additionally, I would like to know if you have any tips for color combinations, especially for doors, carcasses, and accessories within the PLATSA range, to create a harmonious overall look.
Thank you for your detailed opinions and recommendations!

White or gray are classics, but sometimes they don’t add much personality. A soft mint green or a warm mustard yellow can make the piece stand out without being too bold.
And let’s be honest: a little color can definitely brighten up tidying up 😉. In terms of maintenance, lighter colors are also less prone to showing dust compared to darker ones.

If flexibility is the priority, simple white or light gray is the most practical choice, but anyone who thinks that will automatically stay modern is mistaken. Trends change, and a very neutral color can quickly become dull.

Especially with modular systems like PLATSA, it’s exciting to experiment with colors. Combined with wood or metal accents, it can look really high-end. I see the color choice as a design statement, not as a boring standard solution.
