Hello everyone, I recently assembled an IKEA Platsa cabinet and am now facing the issue of properly aligning the doors. The doors should close flush and be as evenly aligned as possible, but despite adjustment attempts, they either sit too loosely or tilt slightly. Are there any tips or tricks for optimally aligning the Platsa doors? I am especially interested in which screws or mechanisms to focus on and whether there are small tools that can make the alignment easier. Thanks in advance for your help!
The key features of Platsa doors are the three adjustable options on the hinges: depth, height, and lateral adjustment. First, use the depth adjustment to set the distance from the cabinet front, ensuring the door is flush. Next, adjust the height to align the doors evenly, and finally, use the lateral adjustment to minimize and even out the gap between the doors. A useful tip is to roughly align the doors first, then tighten all screws to secure the settings. Small wedges or thin strips of cardboard between the door and the cabinet can help check the clearances.

I can understand how frustrating it can be to spend hours adjusting doors that just won’t fit properly. It’s important to take your time and check each step carefully. Do you maybe need a more detailed guide on the adjustment options? I’ve put together a short guide myself, in case that helps you.

Is there a recommended order for adjusting the different screws on the hinges? Also, do you happen to know if this works differently for Platsa doors compared to other IKEA cabinets? I have the impression that the doors here are a bit more sensitive.
