ᐅ Are there any Ikea PLATSA models made with thermal insulating materials?

KolapuI am currently wondering whether there are any Ikea Platsa wardrobe systems that come with specially insulated materials. The reason is that I am considering using wardrobes in a poorly insulated room not only for storage but also to help improve thermal insulation. I am particularly interested in whether the construction of the PLATSA system or specific models include any form of integrated insulation, or if Ikea offers any recommendations involving elements for thermal insulation. Perhaps someone here has experience or knows details about the materials used and their thermal insulation properties.
As far as I know, the Ikea PLATSA models are not specifically designed with thermal insulation materials. The cabinets are mainly made of wood and chipboard panels without special insulation. If you want better thermal insulation, you would need to add insulation material afterwards or look for alternative solutions.
To clarify the facts: Ikea PLATSA is a modular cabinet system made of particleboard and MDF with a melamine or foil coating. The design primarily serves storage purposes, not thermal insulation. It does not include any integrated insulating materials. Product information and technical specifications confirm that no insulation materials such as polystyrene, mineral wool, or similar are used. Therefore, the system is not designed for significant thermal insulation. For insulating effects, additional insulation films or boards would need to be installed separately.

Although there is no specific "Platsa insulation model," several users here in the forum have reported that simple modifications can achieve significant improvements. For example, I personally inserted styrofoam panels behind the wardrobe's back panel, which noticeably reduced the cold coming through the exterior wall area. Maybe this could help you as well? Just be sure to maintain good ventilation to avoid moisture problems.
