Hello everyone,

I recently bought the Ikea Brimnes wardrobe and have noticed that the included instructions are quite confusing and, in some parts, even misleading. In particular, the diagrams and assembly sections are not organized logically, making it difficult to clearly understand which parts should be assembled in what order.

Are there any users here who have experience assembling this wardrobe and can share tips on the best approach when the Ikea instructions are unclear? What tricks have worked for you to successfully complete the assembly?

I think a more structured method or alternative explanations could help, as I haven’t fully grasped the assembly process yet.

Looking forward to your advice!

Good evening,

if the Ikea Brimnes instructions are not clear, I recommend the following structured approach:

- First, check all individual parts and compare them with the parts list in the instructions. This ensures that no components are missing.
- Lay out all screws, dowels, and fasteners sorted by type so you can access them more quickly during assembly.
- Carefully review each assembly step before starting and try to mentally follow the sequence.
- If needed, apply your own numbering to the parts using tape or a pencil to avoid confusion.
- If the illustrations are unclear, it often helps to loosely fit the parts together beforehand to better visualize their position.

A clean and organized preparation is essential for avoiding mistakes and ensuring efficient work during assembly.

If you have any further specific questions about individual assembly steps, I am happy to address them directly.

Yes, I know that feeling well 😊! Ikea manuals sometimes seem like a mischievous elf was involved. But don’t worry: my best tip is to start with plenty of patience and a coffee on the side.

What helps me is breaking the build into manageable steps. So, first assemble all the doors, then the drawers, before struggling with the main frame.

I also find it helpful to sort all screws and panels according to the instructions at the beginning, even if it seems a bit boring – this avoids frantic searching during the build.

And if a step doesn’t fit, go back and take another look – sometimes you simply missed something or the instructions are a bit unclear.

Good luck and don’t give up; eventually the Brimnes will fit perfectly!

Hello MEKE9,

You’ve raised an important topic that affects many users of the Ikea Brimnes, as the product’s instructions can indeed present some challenges. I generally recommend a multi-step approach that guides you through the assembly process in detail:

- First, thoroughly review the entire instruction manual and mark any problematic sections or unclear symbols.
- Identify exactly which part is used for what according to the parts list – it often helps to write down the part numbers and lay out the parts side by side.
- Keep in mind that the order of assembly is often crucial for this cabinet, as proceeding incorrectly can make the process unnecessarily complicated or even lead to incorrect assembly.
- The hinges for the doors and the drawer assembly can be particularly tricky; when you reach these steps, I suggest working slowly and double-checking the types of screws and drill holes as needed.
- For assembling the main frame, having a helper is beneficial because the large parts are usually difficult to handle alone.

I’m interested to know: which specific assembly points are causing you trouble? This way, we can tailor the advice even more precisely.

Best regards!
