Hello everyone, I am currently considering replacing my existing wardrobe solution and have been thinking about using the IKEA PLATSA system for this purpose. My main question is: How well does IKEA PLATSA work as a wardrobe in terms of flexibility, storage capacity, stability, and appearance? I need a solution that can accommodate different types of wardrobe items – from coats and shoes to accessories – without appearing too bulky or unstable. Additionally, I am interested in how practical it is for everyday use, especially when it comes to quickly rearranging or adding modules. Has anyone had experience with PLATSA as a wardrobe, particularly with the specifically available wardrobe modules or corresponding interior fittings? Thanks in advance!

I installed my wardrobe with Platsa about six months ago, and I’m absolutely thrilled! It’s really fun to rearrange and add modules again and again.

The system is truly flexible and can be customized to fit individual needs—which is very important for a wardrobe. For example, I combined open compartments with closed units. I also integrated a clothes rail that easily supports heavy winter coats. The drawers are sturdy, and I use them to store my hats and scarves separately.

What I really like is that you can easily add new modules later without much effort—just buy more modules and attach them! In terms of appearance, it fits perfectly with the modern look of my hallway, and thanks to the neutral colors, it’s easy to coordinate.

I agree with this. For anyone looking for a system that grows with you and offers various storage options, PLATSA is a good choice.

It’s also worth mentioning that the surface is relatively easy to clean, which is especially practical for wardrobes. I have noticed there are different types of doors available, which helps reduce dust. Still, heavy shoes or coats should be distributed evenly to avoid putting too much weight on individual components.
