Hello everyone,

I’m currently wondering if there are any Ikea PAX wardrobes that come from the factory with integrated lighting and power outlets. I understand that PAX systems are usually assembled by the customer and enhanced with accessories, but I’m specifically curious if there are models or sets that include these features built-in—essentially a PAX wardrobe with interior light strips and ideally power strips for electricity supply, permanently installed and working without any retrofitting.

It is particularly important to me whether such options are officially offered or if you are always dependent on third-party products or DIY solutions. If anyone has experience with this or knows of alternatives, I would appreciate a detailed reply.

As far as I know, Ikea does not offer PAX wardrobe models with built-in power outlets. Lighting is usually available as separate accessories—for example, LED strips that you install yourself.

To answer the question more precisely: Ikea does not offer wardrobes with built-in power outlets for the PAX system. Lighting is available separately as LED options in the "Omlopp" or "NÄVLINGE" series and can be installed later inside the wardrobe.

For a permanent power outlet installation, custom solutions or third-party attachments are required.

It is always important to ensure proper electrical work before installation to guarantee safety.

I would like to delve deeper into this topic, as the question involves some technical aspects.

First of all: Ikea delivers the PAX systems to be as flexible as possible. This means that integrated power outlets are not standard – this is also problematic for safety and regulatory reasons, as outlets must be permanently installed and mounted according to national standards.

Lighting can be retrofitted quite easily with Ikea LEDs: the "OMLOPP" strips are wireless and battery-operated, whereas "NÄVLINGE" is designed for fixed wiring. Power strips can be installed inside the wardrobe if you have some DIY skills, but there are no Ikea-specific products for this. Usually, universal power strips or modules are used and properly secured.

It is advisable to clarify the following in advance:
- Where exactly will the wardrobe be positioned (proximity to the power source)?
- Is the outlet intended for external devices (e.g., charging station)?
- Does the electrical installation in the home allow for connecting an outlet inside the wardrobe?

Without these framework conditions, it is difficult to make a general statement. If you want, I can gladly provide tips for retrofitting or recommend suitable outlet models.

Summary: Ikea sells PAX wardrobes without built-in electrical outlets. The lighting is available as modular accessories, which can be easily installed by yourself. Electrical outlets must be purchased and installed separately.

It makes sense to clarify the following in advance:
- Exactly where will the cabinet be positioned (proximity to the power source)?
- Is the outlet intended for external devices (e.g., charging station)?
- Is the electrical installation in the apartment set up so that an outlet can be connected inside the cabinet?

Thanks for the input! My situation is as follows: The cabinet will be placed in the bedroom against a wall that is directly next to a power outlet. I would like to have an outlet inside the cabinet, mainly for charging electronics (phone, possibly an electric razor). The lighting is primarily meant for interior illumination and ideally should be dimmable.

Can I imagine that the outlet could be discreetly hidden in one of the side panels? Which type of lighting would you consider the most practical? I prefer a solution that looks neat, so no loose cables hanging around.
