jasonsin6327 Jul 2024 09:13Hello everyone, I am currently planning to install an IKEA Platsa system at my home and am wondering if there is an on-site assembly service available in Germany or generally at IKEA that can be used for PLATSA.
Can anyone tell me if IKEA offers an assembly service for PLATSA furniture that assembles it at the delivery address? Or is PLATSA more of a system that you have to assemble yourself?
If such services exist, I would also appreciate information on whether they are charged, how to book them, and whether the on-site assembly is carried out by IKEA employees or possibly by third-party companies cooperating with IKEA.
I just want to make sure I don’t encounter any unpleasant surprises during assembly since PLATSA is a modular system with many individual components and I have no experience with this kind of thing. Thanks in advance for your feedback!

As an additional note: IKEA’s assembly service is chargeable, and the prices vary depending on the scope and complexity of the project.
It should be noted that scheduling an appointment often requires several days' notice.
The installers are professionally trained, but the service is mainly carried out by partner companies, not directly by IKEA employees.

As someone who assembled the PLATSA system a few months ago: The assembly process is quite user-friendly, but I really didn’t want to struggle alone. It was definitely much easier with three people.
Hiring an assembly service makes sense if you don’t have handy friends nearby 😉. I can only recommend booking it directly when ordering to save yourself some stress.

Yes, IKEA generally offers assembly services in Germany, including for the PLATSA system. These are usually carried out by partner companies. They can be booked directly through the IKEA online shop or physical store. That sounds promising!
To what extent do the delivery times for the assembly service align with the delivery of the PLATSA parts? Is it possible to book assembly for the same day as delivery, or does IKEA handle that separately? I’m asking because I’d prefer not to have multiple appointments.
