Hello everyone, I am planning to get an Ikea PAX wardrobe for the bedroom to improve storage organization. My question is: which accessories for the PAX system enhance its use in the bedroom the most? I am especially interested in solutions that make the wardrobe more practical, organized, and space-saving—whether through drawers, inserts, lighting, or special storage options. Which additions do you recommend that have proven truly useful in everyday life? I look forward to your tips and experiences!

The most important features are the interior drawers and drawer inserts. These help you make the best use of the space and allow quick access to smaller items. Cabinet lighting is also a simple but effective upgrade.

A few structured recommendations for PAX accessories:
- Interior drawers and pull-outs: Perfect for underwear, socks, and accessories.
- Clothes rails at different heights: Useful for long and short garments, helping to avoid wasted space.
- Shelves: Ideal for flexibly dividing individual compartments.
- LED lighting: Provides not only illumination but also a modern look and makes finding items easier.
A small tip: When purchasing, make sure the accessories are compatible with your PAX width and depth, as some parts fit only 35 cm (14 inches) depth, others only 58 cm (23 inches) depth.
In summary: Focus on flexible division, lighting, and clever hanging elements.

A very interesting question that involves both practical organization and ergonomics.

Basically, choosing the right PAX accessories depends on personal use, but some items are universally recommended.

Multifunctional internal drawers are extremely helpful: they can be used as pull-out trays for small accessories like ties, belts, or jewelry and usually have a maximum load capacity that should definitely be considered.

Various shelves, preferably in glass or wood, can also help to open up the space inside the wardrobe and allow for adjustable heights – here, precise planning with a tape measure is important to make the most of the height and depth.

Another favorite of mine: the PAX pull-out rods. These are a space-saving alternative to fixed clothes rails and are useful, for example, for blouses that you want easy access to.

Integrated shoe racks should not be underestimated, as they are especially useful for shoes stored beneath clothing or at the bottom of the wardrobe.

Finally, a note on lighting: I recommend using the LED profile system with motion sensors – this saves energy while providing perfect visibility even at night.

A question for you: Are you planning the wardrobe layout completely on your own, or do you already have measurements and the internal arrangement in mind?

Good question. So far, I only have the dimensions (about 200 cm (79 inches) tall, 100 cm (39 inches) wide, 60 cm (24 inches) deep) and I know that besides clothing (pants, jackets, tops), I also want to store many accessories, shoes, and underwear efficiently. I haven’t finalized the layout yet, so suggestions for flexible fittings are very welcome. It’s also important to me that I don’t have to keep moving things around to access the inside.

Thanks for the great contributions so far! From my own experience, I can highly recommend the PAX drawers with dividers—they make life so much easier!

- All small items have their place
- You can immediately see where everything is
- No more frustrating searching around

I also found the accessories for storing pants extremely practical. A pull-out pants hanger helps prevent creases and saves a lot of space.

LED lighting is absolutely essential for me, especially when the wardrobe isn’t located right next to a window.

Just give it a try—sometimes seemingly small investments really pay off!
