Hello everyone, I recently bought a Billy bookcase from IKEA and am wondering whether the assembly aids that you can buy separately at hardware stores are really useful or rather unnecessary. Specifically, I’m referring to the various devices for precise alignment of the shelves and for securing the side panels that some stores offer as accessories.
I find the idea of using such tools interesting to make the assembly easier and more accurate, especially if you’re not very experienced in furniture assembly. On the other hand, the Billy bookcase seems quite straightforward to put together even without these aids, so I’m unsure if the effort and cost for these tools are really worth it.
Does anyone have experience with whether these assembly tricks from hardware stores actually pay off? Or is it better to simply follow the instructions and plan for more time? Thanks in advance for your insights!
