Hello everyone, I am currently planning the setup of my new kitchen and have chosen several Ikea Metod wall cabinets for it. I am wondering: what is the best way to optimize the storage use of these Metod wall cabinets, both in terms of usable space and practical handling? I am not only interested in the basic storage itself but also in useful additional solutions such as dividers, shelves, or other organization options specifically designed for the Metod series. Does anyone have experience with which interior fittings are the most efficient? I want to make good use of every centimeter (inch) without making it confusing or difficult to access. I would appreciate any tips, suggestions, or specific recommendations!

Use of pull-out interior drawers for easy access

Exactly, that greatly increases convenience! Here’s another tip: by adjusting different heights, you can store less frequently used items on the top shelves and keep everyday items right at the front and easily accessible. Simply brilliant!

Use the maximum possible number of internal drawers and organize them by function. This way, you have quick access, and the space is used optimally. Avoid too many small shelves, as this reduces clarity.

I make sure that everything is categorized and that the heavy items are stored at the bottom. For Metod, I recommend a combination of fixed shelves and pull-out baskets. This creates a nice balance between storage space and visibility.

Thanks for the tip! But I wonder how practical adjustable shelves are if you often add new kitchen utensils or larger pots? Do you have to constantly rearrange, or are there user experiences that make this easier?

No problem! The shelves can be adjusted quite easily, so occasional rearranging is manageable. I recommend keeping a general layout: heavy and large items at the bottom, smaller and less frequently used items on top. This way, the effort stays reasonable, and you gain real flexibility. Enjoy optimizing!
