Hello,

I have received two quotes for 18 doors for a single-family house. These include several fixed glazing units (including 1.88 x 2.15 m (6.2 x 7.1 ft)), patio doors (single and double), and upstairs windows (including 1.88 x 2.15 m (6.2 x 7.1 ft)) that have a fixed section.

Josko offered me the following: Kunststoff-Aluminium Safir 2.0 and fixed windows as Fix Blue,
Internorm: Kunststoff-Aluminium KF 520

The quotes include a fine texture surface on the windows, and the exterior window sills in aluminum are also coated. Electric aluminum blinds and electric aluminum roller shutters in matching colors are included. Everything with installation.

Internorm is about €6,000 cheaper. However, I am not sure if Josko’s windows are of higher quality or better. I prefer the appearance of Josko's windows, especially because of their very slim design, which looks really nice. The KF 520 are similar on the inside but look like fixed glazing on the outside.

Technically, Internorm offers RC2N and ECLAZ as standard, which Josko does not.

What do you think about these offers?

RC2N provides almost no protection. It just has a few more mushroom-head locks, and that’s about it – although I prefer Internorm’s technology, as it seems higher quality (and more visually appealing).

That comes at a cost.

Without knowing the precise offer (Josko is actually more affordable than Internorm – though both are at a very high level), I would choose Internorm based on price. Why? Better technology, but visually "worse" – at least for me personally.

BUT: The price difference could of course also be due to the quality of the blinds or the installation.

Conclusion: It’s not possible to assess the complete offer. Based on price alone (and probably not overall performance), I would choose Internorm.

Why do you have the windows quoted for yourself instead of through your installer?

There isn’t really an external installer as such. The windows are installed by Josko or Internorm, or by the companies that handle the installation for them. We contract all trades for our solid construction house ourselves.

Just to clarify briefly: the Venetian blinds are actually cheaper with Josko. However, what costs a lot more and significantly more than with Internorm are the fixed glazing, the exterior windowsill, and the roller shutters. Additionally, the installation is also more expensive with Josko.

Could you please stop spreading such nonsense before you leave for good?

RC2 or RC2N is explicitly recommended by the police and remains the best protection compared to alarm systems and other measures that only respond after burglars have already entered the house.
The break-in time is crucial and, in most burglaries, lasts about 1–2 minutes, which is how long an RC2N window can delay an intruder. Attacks on the glass itself are rather rare...

I believe the police know better since they deal with this kind of thing much more often than you... honestly, how can someone spread such rubbish...

This means you made the classic mistake of obtaining quotes from dealers. In this way, you end up with product-focused offers—whether you involve dealers offering one or multiple products. This sounds logical to laypersons. Those who have read my warnings that the bottleneck lies mostly with skilled installers, to the point where product differences become insignificant, approach this differently. The assumption that all dealers are equally knowledgeable about installation, similar to a presumption of innocence, unfortunately often proves wrong. Good luck, you’ll need it!
