Hello everyone, I am currently having an issue with the drawers of my IKEA Hemnes sideboard. During assembly, I noticed that the drawers do not fit properly into the guided recesses as expected. The drawers are very difficult to slide in or they sit completely crooked. I have checked whether the rails are mounted correctly, and everything seems to be installed according to the instructions. My question is: What can I specifically do if the IKEA HEMNES drawers do not fit? Are there known adjustments, measurements to check, or special tricks to make the drawers fit properly? This really worked wonders for me! 😄 If you do it cheerfully, the drawers almost slide in by themselves.

Sometimes it’s just a bit too much enthusiasm when screwing – I’ve found that it’s better to fine-tune first before wondering why everything doesn’t fit perfectly.

Also: Maybe you installed the drawer the wrong way around? I once swapped the drawer front on my HEMNES sideboard and wondered why it was sticking. Approach it patiently, and it will work! 👍

Check whether the rails at all four corners are exactly at the same height. If not, the drawer will not fit. Simply use a spirit level to check and adjust if necessary.
