Hello everyone, I have a comprehensive question: Are there any specific care instructions or recommendations from IKEA for the Hemnes furniture system under heavy use?
I am particularly interested in how to protect the surface from frequent use in households, office environments, or children’s rooms over the long term, without losing the original charm of the material.
Would regular surface treatments, special cleaning agents, or preventive measures be most important? Perhaps someone also has experience with potential wear points that should be watched for.
I look forward to well-informed advice, as I want to avoid unnecessary damage to the furniture and prefer to take preventive action.

Super important, as already mentioned here! A Hemnes dresser really benefits from care and attention.
What I can definitely recommend: If you notice the surface becoming dull or small areas feeling rough, take the time to apply a thin layer of furniture oil. This not only refreshes the color but also makes the wood much more resistant to everyday scratches.
Have you tried this as well? For me, the dresser really “revived” because of it! It’s great when you can achieve a lot with little effort!

Regular surface treatment with oil or wax is a proven method to protect pine wood from moisture and mechanical wear. Neglecting this risks early occurrence of cracks or unpleasant water stains.

Avoid treating Hemnes surfaces directly with strong cleaners or solvents.Thank you for this important advice! This matches my assumptions. From now on, I will primarily look for gentle cleaning agents and include oil treatments in my maintenance routine.
One last question for everyone: How often do you do this? Quarterly, twice a year, or differently? I would appreciate any experience-based insights.
