Hello everyone,

Lately, I have been reading quite a bit about weak points in the IKEA Brimnes wardrobe and I’m wondering which parts of this model are most prone to issues based on your experience. Do you think it’s mostly the hinges, the back panels, the door material, or perhaps the drawer slides? I’m especially interested in advice on where wear or damage tends to occur fastest with frequent use, so I can be careful during assembly and daily use. Looking forward to your insights and tips for maintenance or repair!

Just a quick note: Regarding the back panels—they are really thin and delicate. Have you ever tried moving a cabinet without a back panel? It’s a disaster. If you plan to move the cabinet frequently, I would recommend protecting the back panel or handling it with gloves to prevent any damage.

And about the drawers—if the slides squeak or stick, a little silicone spray works wonders.

So, with a bit of careful handling, the Brimnes will stay in great shape forever!

This advice is technically accurate. Silicone spray reduces friction and extends the lifespan of plastic glides. It is important not to use oily substances, as they can attract dust and dirt, which accelerates wear.

Additionally, I recommend checking the hinges after about 6 to 12 months and tightening the connections if necessary to ensure lasting stability.
