Hello everyone, I recently tried to assemble my new Pax wardrobe. Unfortunately, several issues occurred: the side panels are not completely straight, some screws are difficult to tighten, and the doors don’t close properly. My question is: What can I do if the Pax assembly is misaligned? Are there any proven tips or adjustment methods to restore stability and correctly align the wardrobe? I followed the instructions, but somehow everything doesn’t fit together properly. I would appreciate any advice!
Manual screwing is generally fine, but a cordless drill with a torque setting makes assembly much easier and helps prevent over-tightening or loose fittings. Especially with Pax, where parts often need to be joined precisely, having a feel for the work and a good tool is important. Also consider:
- Mark screws and components before disassembly with a pencil (e.g., small numbers or arrows)
- Use sealable containers for screws to avoid losing them
- Take photos before taking things apart to make reassembly easier
- Work in stages; don’t dismantle everything at once
It may sound like extra effort, but it will save a lot of time and frustration later on.

Once you disassemble the part, first loosely insert all the screws during reassembly and only tighten them once everything is in place. This is a very important tip. Especially with more complex furniture like the Pax, this is the key to achieving a straight and stable structure. Additionally, I would recommend checking the side panels with a spirit level after loosely screwing them in and, if necessary, using shims or small wooden pieces to make adjustments. This also helps to better compensate for minor floor unevenness.Similar topics
