Hello everyone,

In the single-family house I purchased, there is a wooden staircase by Treppenmeister. Some of the stair treads need to be sanded down and refinished. Ideally, there should be no visible difference compared to the other wooden components afterward, so I am looking for any information on the type of finish used here. Attached are some photos for illustration. The finish has absolutely no gloss.

I look forward to your opinions,
thank you in advance and best regards,
Marco

I’m curious to hear your thoughts,

Unfortunately, there is only one answer. Ask the person who supplied or built the staircase (so, the stair specialist). There are so many possibilities for what type of varnish this could be. Now, one could try to guess which 2-component polyurethane (2K-PUR) varnish it is, but that would just be a guess.
The "15..." is probably the relevant project number. Maybe you can identify the correct varnish with that.

BUT: Having the wood look identical to the aged wood after sanding and then applying the same varnish will not work. You will definitely see a difference between the steps.
