Hello,
We are having some difficulties with our current floor plan. The exterior walls of the shower bathroom are fixed, but everything else (including the window, the 11cm (4.3 inches) wall, and the door leading to the hallway) can be changed. The window currently faces north. To the east, the garage would be located about 1.3m (4 feet 3 inches) away.
The issue is that we would like to have a large door to the bathroom. The shower should be approximately 85cm by 85cm (33.5 inches by 33.5 inches) or slightly larger, with a glass door. At the moment, the area near the sink feels too small because of the large door.
I am open to any suggestions.

But they said it was too small 😀 You shouldn’t take every response too literally. 4 sqm (43 sq ft) is already larger than what others typically allocate for a shower. 4 sqm (43 sq ft) is quite generous — with different room dimensions, 2.5 sqm (27 sq ft) also works well.

I don’t see a problem here. Just close the door, and you still have enough space.
Personally, without knowing the reasons or the user’s specific needs, I would recommend omitting the partition wall next to the shower. Partition walls in general are not always the best solution, as they literally separate. Often, a shower enclosure that swings inward is a more practical alternative.

hanghaus202325 Apr 2026 15:38I always wonder why people don’t simply install a shower curtain. That way, you have unlimited space. It has been working for decades. Just a floor drain and proper slope, and you’re done.

My question went further: “Why have a shower in the guest WC at all?” In guest WCs, people freshen up briefly or use it for quick needs after coming home. Evening guests should have already showered at their own home, and overnight guests use the main bathroom. A dog shower makes more sense placed near the leash hook and before the entrance turns into a dirty area.
