Hello everyone,
I am currently considering furnishing my new home with the Ikea Platsa furniture system. I have an important question that I haven’t been able to find a satisfactory answer to anywhere else: Does Ikea offer Platsa furniture with built-in power outlets?
More specifically, I am interested in whether Ikea sells such power outlets not only as accessories but if there are specific Platsa elements that come with power outlets pre-installed from the factory. That would, of course, be very convenient, especially for the flexible use of lamps, chargers, or other electrical devices directly integrated into the furniture.
Perhaps someone has experience with this or recommendations on how to practically integrate power connections into the Platsa system? I look forward to your feedback!

I mainly want the outlets for ambient lighting in the shelves, and possibly for phone chargers directly inside the cabinet. That’s a reasonable use case. However, for lighting, I would mainly recommend LED light strips that operate on 12V or 24V low voltage. They are safer and easier to integrate into furniture.
Using outlets involves the challenge that, with 230V in furniture integration, safety regulations must be strictly followed.
A low-voltage system like this also makes it easier to hide cables and reduces the risk.
It might be worth checking out IKEA’s lighting solutions such as "Dioder" or similar LED kits that can be combined with Platsa.
Good morning everyone! 😊
I’m using Platsa at my home and actually started a small project: I took a power strip with a long cable and attached it to the back of the cabinet. I used cable channels to keep everything neat and tidy.
You can’t see anything, and I have several outlets right on the furniture. For me, this is a great solution!
I think this is the most practical way if Ikea doesn’t offer built-in power options.
So, keep your spirits up, this can be solved easily!

It would generally be helpful to know the depth and width of your Platsa units to tailor cable management recommendations.
Migugu, if you like, you can share your room dimensions and Platsa configuration so we can focus on the most suitable solution.

Are there Platsa furniture units from Ikea with built-in power outlets? No, Ikea does not offer Platsa furniture with integrated power outlets.
However, you can use your own power strips and cable management solutions effectively; this can look neat and be safe if done properly.
Thank you all for the lively discussion!
My conclusion: There are no original Platsa furniture pieces with built-in power outlets. It is better to use solutions like power strips, LED kits, and cable conduits to ensure flexibility and safety.
For fun, I will specifically ask about accessories in the Ikea showroom and try to implement the tips mentioned by the community.
Thanks again for so many helpful and well-thought-out contributions!
