Bennet65Hello everyone, some time ago I bought an Ikea Hemnes dresser, and unfortunately several drawers are having significant problems. The drawers often stick or don’t close properly, which makes using them quite annoying. I have already checked for loose screws or bent rails but didn’t find anything unusual. I’m interested to know if anyone here has solutions or tips on how to effectively fix these common issues with Hemnes drawers. Are there any workshop tricks, adjustable components, or recommended replacement parts? I would appreciate any help, especially long-term solutions that permanently improve functionality!

In Hemnes drawers, jamming is often caused by incorrect installation of the drawer slides. The slides should be mounted exactly parallel to the side wall of the chest and must be free of dirt or damage. If the drawer does not close properly, it can also be due to the small plastic stopper at the rear end of the slide, which may lose its effectiveness through wear. It is worth replacing or at least checking this stopper.
Additionally, I recommend pulling out the drawers along with the slides, cleaning all moving parts, and then applying a high-quality lubricant. WD-40 is not suitable; silicone or Teflon sprays are better.

I completely removed it, then cleaned all the slides and inside surfaces. After that, I applied a bit of drawer liner – it’s a thin, self-adhesive sheet designed specifically for drawers. It worked great for me, everything started sliding effortlessly again. Maybe that could help you too?
