FUMOSUHello everyone, I recently bought the IKEA Brimnes furniture set but unfortunately did not receive the assembly instructions. Are there any people here who have assembled this furniture without the manual and can offer valuable tips or recommend a specific order? I especially want to avoid using the wrong screws or mixing up parts, which can happen quickly with more complex furniture. I do have some experience with assembling furniture, but the many individual pieces for the Brimnes set seem quite challenging without instructions. So, if anyone knows any tricks or remembers assembling it without the manual, I would appreciate any advice!

Are there any people here who have assembled the furniture without instructions before and can give me valuable tips or recommend a specific order?Basically, assembling the Brimnes wardrobe without instructions is definitely possible, but having some kind of system really helps. Here are a few points that make the process much easier:
- First, sort all the parts by type and size to get a clear overview.
- Start with the side panels, as these are usually large and provide a clear frame structure.
- Use the color-coded screws (if available) and follow a clear sequence: side panels, back panel, base elements, doors.
- Be careful with the hinges: check their position carefully, as they are often the trickiest components.
- If you don’t have instructions, it can help to refer to online assembly videos, which are sometimes quite detailed for individual models.
If possible, it’s also advisable not to fully tighten screws in the early steps, so you can easily adjust if a mistake is made. Patience pays off.

Here is a structured assembly suggestion for the Brimnes without instructions:
- Sort parts by function and position
- Assemble the side panels (always parallel to each other) first, without fully securing them
- Install the rear crossbars and back panel; use the metal braces if available
- Insert the bottom panel, attach any supports or coverings
- Mount the doors last, making sure to correctly position and carefully adjust the hinges beforehand
It is especially important to follow the correct order of screws. Forcing or pressing parts together during assembly can be counterproductive and may cause damage.

First, assemble the main frame, then the doors and drawers.
Don’t worry, everything is logically structured.

I do have some experience with furniture assembly, but with Brimnes, the many individual parts without instructions do seem quite challenging.I can definitely understand how frustrating that can be. I once had a Brimnes set without any instructions myself and felt pretty uncertain at first. What helped me was taking a break and then calmly sorting through all the parts. It also helped to set small milestones during assembly – for example, making sure the side panels are properly aligned before moving on.
Even though it’s more difficult without instructions, with patience you can definitely manage. And if you ever feel stuck, stepping back and double-checking the connections you’ve made so far can really help to realign everything.
You’ll do great!
