Hello everyone, I recently decided to design my living and working room with IKEA Platsa furniture in a wood finish. Now I am wondering which colors would best complement this wood look to create a coherent and modern atmosphere. My main goal is to find a combination that is not only harmonious but also timeless and not too colorful. Which wall colors, decorative elements, or accent colors would you recommend that work well with the natural wood tone of Platsa? Are there any color schemes or combinations that you personally prefer or would rather avoid for this material? Looking forward to your experiences and ideas!

Neutral colors such as white, cream, or light gray work especially well with PLATSA wood look. Soft shades of blue can also complement nicely if you want some variation.

Great question, Ro-na! I love using warm earth tones like mustard yellow or terracotta. They really add warmth and life to a room! You can also try colors like moss green, which brings a nice fresh touch. Just be bold and have fun with your color choices!

I would also recommend dark accents with PLATSA wood finish, such as anthracite or dark green. These colors create nice contrasts without appearing too dominant.

I would definitely avoid bright neon colors. They simply do not match the natural wood appearance and can quickly appear distracting.

Additional information: PLATSA wood finish features a medium-light, warm wood tone that pairs well with a range of muted and natural colors. Practical recommendations for color categories are as follows:
- Warm cream and beige tones for a calm, appealing base atmosphere
- Subtle gray shades (between light and medium-dark) for modern accents
- Dark forest green or blue for contrast in individual furniture or textile pieces
- Accents in matte mustard yellow or warm rust tones to create highlights
Cold, bright colors that disrupt the wood character should be avoided.
