Hello everyone, I would like to customize my Ikea Pax wardrobe specifically for storing jewelry and accessories. I am looking for a functional and visually appealing solution to organize rings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, and similar items in a clear and protected way. I am interested in practical interior fittings such as drawer inserts or compartments, as well as ideas for using existing components from the Pax system or additional modules that can be easily integrated. Do you have any specific tips or experiences on how to best modify the Pax for jewelry and small accessories? Especially tricks for layout, choice of materials, or special storage solutions would be very helpful. Thanks in advance for your input!

Hi kenrico, that’s an exciting project! 😄 I partially converted my Pax into a jewelry organizer, and what worked really well were small wooden or plastic drawer inserts with compartments of various sizes for rings and necklaces. This way, nothing gets tangled, and it still looks neat. Tip: Using transparent inserts always helps you keep track. A soft fabric lining prevents scratches – that’s invaluable! Having a bit of space for hanging loops is also always useful. Good luck!

Hello kenrico, your project requires precise planning because jewelry and accessories have specific storage needs: protection from dust, scratches, and tangling is essential. My recommended approach is as follows: First, you should measure the internal depth of the Pax wardrobe to create or select inserts that fit perfectly. Using a combination of different materials makes sense—for example, wood for structural elements and velvet fabrics for lining due to their cushioning effect. You can arrange drawers at variable heights to accommodate both flat jewelry pieces and taller watch boxes. A modular system with flexible dividers is advantageous because you can adjust the layout later. For necklaces, I suggest hooks on the inside of the doors that keep sufficient distance between items. Finally, be sure to use sturdy slides for the delicate drawers. Are you planning a complete custom build for the inserts, or would you prefer to integrate existing Ikea components?

When planning, you should optimize access to each individual piece of jewelry while also ensuring protection from dust. Inserts with several smaller compartments arranged horizontally are recommended for rings and stud earrings. Separate compartments with hooks or small rods are useful for necklaces to prevent tangling. Concealed internal lighting at the level of the compartments makes it easier to find items. In terms of materials, velvet or felt coverings are suitable, as they protect delicate surfaces.

I would recommend complementing the Pax with flat drawer inserts that can be customized with small compartments. Hook strips on the inside of the door are suitable for necklaces. Additionally, an insert with ring cushions is worthwhile. This way, everything stays organized and protected.

A good solution is to combine drawers for small items with open compartments for larger accessories. Additionally, removable inserts provide practical flexibility for organization.
