Hello everyone, I am currently focusing on optimizing my Pax wardrobe to create as much additional storage space as possible without having to buy completely new furniture. I am particularly interested in practical adjustments that can be made to the Pax to better utilize the existing space. Possible options include adding shelves, extra hooks, drawer systems, or even interior modifications to better accommodate specific items. What experiences have you had with modifications that have significantly increased storage capacity? I would also appreciate tips on suitable products or DIY ideas. Thanks in advance for your constructive suggestions!

Modularity and adaptability are important because different items have different storage requirements. I also recommend conducting a thorough inventory and analysis of the current space usage before remodeling to identify which areas truly need improvement and what can be eliminated. More storage space does not automatically mean better organization.
Most people simply overfill their Pax units, losing overview and thus wasting space. In addition to the modifications mentioned, it is essential to regularly tidy up and clear out unused items. For the conversions themselves, I consider a combination of additional adjustable shelves and relatively shallow drawers to be the most practical for better space utilization.
I really appreciate the exchange here because the Pax is a true passion project for many. For me, it is also important that such modifications not only create a lot of storage space but remain accessible as well. I sometimes find it difficult to reach items at the lower edge; ideally, there would be a solution that makes these lower or higher areas easier to access. Is there anyone here who has practical tips for this?

Sometimes I find it difficult to reach things at the bottom. A solution that would make it easier to access these lower or higher areas would be great. There are really great pull-out drawers or baskets for that! You don’t have to reach deep anymore; you simply pull everything out! It saves a lot of time and frustration!! 😉
Exactly! The extendability is a huge advantage! I would also recommend using wheeled containers that can be easily pulled out. For the upper areas, there are also telescopic rods with extendable handles – this way, you can lower the clothes rail at the push of a button. Very little effort and a great feeling of extra storage space! 😎👌

There are really great extendable drawers or baskets for that! That is basically correct; however, it is important to consider the structural load capacity and accessibility when installing built-in furniture in the Pax system. Not all components are as durable as expected. Additionally, some drawers may reduce the available interior height. It is advisable to take measurements in advance and then purchase accordingly.
