Hello everyone, I am currently organizing my IKEA Brimnes chest of drawers and looking for practical tips on how to make the most efficient use of the storage space within this furniture series. I am especially interested in advice on the optimal division of the drawers and possibly clever additions that can make the system even smarter. Are there any practical inserts, dividers, or organizers that work particularly well inside the individual compartments? Additionally, I would appreciate any experiences on how to arrange the space so that everything is easily and quickly accessible without causing clutter.

For the Brimnes drawers, I often use small boxes or rigid plastic inserts, which can be found at IKEA itself. This way, different categories can be well separated, and it helps to keep everything organized. It is also best to establish a system and stick to it, for example, underwear on the left, socks on the right.

Hey leo49! What I find clever about the Brimnes is that the drawers are so deep you can really fit a lot inside. My tip: use the folding technique inspired by Marie Kondo – this way you maximize the space effectively, and every item stays visible. I also placed small fabric boxes inside to keep everything a bit softer and more airy, which made it feel much tidier right away. It’s fun too – like a mini Tetris game for everyday life! 😄

Hello leo49, I completely understand that you want more organization in the Brimnes, as the drawers can be quite large and sometimes a bit cluttered. I recommend starting your planning by considering the contents of each drawer: clothing, documents, tech accessories, and so on. Then you can choose suitable dividers or inserts for smaller items accordingly. A key point is to also sort items by frequency of use: place the most frequently needed things in the upper, more accessible drawers, and less frequently used items in the lower ones. This way, you avoid unnecessary rummaging and save time. Maybe this helps as a first guideline.

Exactly, this is essential for maintaining sustainable organization. For the Brimnes drawers, I also recommend using modular divider elements that can be arranged flexibly—this way, you can customize the organization individually. Plastic or wooden boxes work well because they are sturdy and clearly structure the interior space. It is also advisable to consider reserving a drawer specifically for items like personal care products or electronic cables. This thematic grouping greatly improves clarity.

That sounds practical. Do you have a particular type or brand in mind that fits especially well?

I hadn’t actually considered that folding method combined with the Brimnes system before. So do you also use fabric boxes in addition to this folding technique, even though it’s already quite space-saving?

Are these inserts specifically designed for Brimnes at IKEA, or do you have to rely on third-party products? I’m looking for a solution that doesn’t require too much DIY effort.
