maru48Hello everyone, I have the following question: I recently moved abroad and transported my IKEA Kallax shelf during the move. Unfortunately, it was partially damaged in ways that were not present before. I am wondering if it is possible to make a complaint with IKEA internationally, since I originally bought the shelf in Germany but now live abroad. Does anyone have experience with whether IKEA accepts such cases and what the process is? Should I contact the IKEA service in the country where I currently live, or directly the German IKEA customer service? I look forward to your tips and advice!
For clarification: IKEA warranties and claims depend on the country of purchase and where the claim is made. A product defect that occurs during transport (e.g., moving) is usually not covered by the warranty. The IKEA warranty policy clearly distinguishes between manufacturing defects and transport damage. In your case, the place of order is crucial for the claim. International IKEA claims are not handled centrally but always through the local store. Therefore, it is advisable to contact the same store or the online customer service in the country where you made the purchase.

IKEA usually processes complaints only in the country where the purchase was made. So, if I bought the shelf in Germany, I have to file a complaint there, even if I’m now living abroad?Dopoki schrieb:
An international complaint at IKEA is not handled centrally but always through the local branch in the respective country. But I can’t report any damage through the German online store since I’m now using a foreign address. Complicated… Are there any official IKEA statements on this?Similar topics
