jeonjoHello everyone,
I recently purchased the Ikea Brimnes furniture set and now face the challenge of assembling it as easily and quickly as possible. I have an important question: Is there an illustrated assembly manual for Ikea Brimnes that goes beyond the standard booklet, perhaps available online or in a digital format with detailed pictures or even step-by-step photos?
I do have the original manual, but I find it somewhat unclear and not very intuitive in certain parts. If anyone knows of such an illustrated version (maybe as a PDF or download) or has personal experience with particularly helpful instructions, I would greatly appreciate any tips.
Thanks in advance!

The official assembly instructions for the Brimnes from Ikea are only provided in paper format and consist entirely of drawings, without any real photos.
As far as I know, there is no official illustrated assembly guide from the manufacturer that supplements the Ikea instructions with real photos or more detailed images. However, users sometimes share photo-based tips on platforms or forums that illustrate individual steps.
I recommend paying close attention to the current version of the Brimnes set when searching, as there are several variations and the components may differ.

The Brimnes range includes different furniture pieces: beds, wardrobes, dressers. Since the assembly instructions for these vary significantly, it is helpful to know exactly which Brimnes item is involved.
What I suggest:
- First, check the exact article number or model name.
- Then specifically look for assembly videos for that exact product, even if Ikea does not provide them.
- As a step-by-step aid, you can take your own photos during assembly to create a visual record in case you need further support.
For those who like detailed information, there are also forum posts where every screw is described with pictures – however, this can be time-consuming and may not be practical for everyone.
It is interesting that the focus here is mainly on videos and community solutions. However, I wonder whether such alternatives are truly practical for all users.
Would illustrated assembly instructions with photos not be better suited for a simple, easy-to-follow sequence of steps than video content alone? Videos are often confusing and present the steps too quickly.
One could argue that the lack of official illustrated PDFs from Ikea is a deliberate choice, as the traditional line drawings are meant to remain internationally understandable.
In my view, Ikea could improve by providing a supplementary illustrated version that complements the graphic drawings and makes assembly easier to understand. This would help many end customers, especially those with less experience.

I agree with this observation. Graphic drawings are already standard at Ikea because they are language-independent and facilitate international distribution.
However, there are also multilingual versions with explanatory notes alongside the images, which make assembly easier. Detailed illustrated instructions with photos would involve significant additional effort from the manufacturer’s perspective and would need to be adapted for various countries and product versions.
For end users, it is common practice to rely on product videos or user reports if uncertainties arise. Especially for Brimnes, which consists of several separate modules, visual guidance through video recordings is helpful.
