Hello everyone, I am currently planning to equip my room with the Ikea Platsa system and want to maximize storage space as much as possible. My specific question is: How can I effectively outfit Ikea Platsa with great storage without it becoming too cluttered or bulky? I am particularly interested in combinations of cabinets, drawers, and interior pull-outs to store different types of items both neatly and easily accessible. Are there any practical tips for optimal space utilization and organization? Maybe someone knows smart modules or add-on solutions that make the system even more flexible? Looking forward to your experiences and ideas!

Use modules with different depths to vary the storage space. Internal drawers are great for small items. A solution combining shelves and drawers works well for organization.

I completely understand how important well-organized storage is to you – I spent a long time experimenting before I found the perfect Platsa configuration. It’s easy to end up overstuffing and losing track of things. That’s why I made it a habit to think in categories and reflect them directly in the cabinet: for example, I use drawers for small items like cables and batteries, and cabinets with doors for larger items that are not used as often. I found working with transparent boxes especially helpful – it makes things more relaxed and less frustrating when searching. Good organization is especially valuable when the whole family is involved. Have you considered using Platsa with doors plus adjustable shelves for the interior? That creates really flexible storage space.

Absolutely, it’s like a good cocktail – less is often more! 😄 With Platsa, I find that the mix of drawers and open compartments is really enjoyable. Small sections for odds and ends combined with wider drawers for clothes or books create great organization and make the system feel lively. And hey, a bit of color or nice boxes add extra charm. Plus, the layout can be adjusted anytime if you notice your needs change. Flexibility is the key!

Exactly! I would also add that well-lit interiors (like LED strips) make a big difference when looking for things – especially in deep cabinets. With Platsa, it also helps a lot to use the dimensions precisely, so it’s better to have several smaller modules rather than one large unit. And for those who are brave: storage behind doors with magnetic closures helps avoid a messy jumble. 😎
