ᐅ How can I best install IKEA Metod kitchen units with integrated appliances?

BuericHello everyone,
I am currently planning to assemble an Ikea Metod kitchen unit with integrated appliances (oven, dishwasher, cooktop, refrigerator). My question is quite specific: How can I build this kitchen unit optimally so that the appliances are installed correctly and securely, the fronts align perfectly, and the wall cabinets and countertop fit with millimeter precision?
It is especially important for me to know the best order for assembly and what to pay attention to during the installation of the appliances and the wiring, as I want to complete this as smoothly as possible without needing rework.
Does anyone have experience with correctly securing the Metod cabinets and appliance supports, especially when assembling on uneven floors? Which tools are truly necessary? Are there any tips for the assembly when installing a complete kitchen with appliances for the first time?
Thank you in advance for your advice!

The order is important: first assemble and align the cabinet carcasses, then attach the countertop. Install and screw in the appliances afterwards. Clamps and a spirit level are essential. If the floor is uneven, you should properly adjust the leveling feet of the base cabinets.
Hello, I’m happy to provide you with a structured guide:
- Step 1: Sort all parts before assembly and read through the building guidelines.
- Step 2: Assemble the cabinets, attaching the back panels only after making adjustments.
- Step 3: Adjust the leveling feet to ensure everything is perfectly horizontal (use a spirit level).
- Step 4: Securely connect the cabinets to each other and fix them to the wall.
- Step 5: Place the countertop and align it precisely, then screw it to the cabinets.
- Step 6: Install the appliances, checking all cables and water connections.
Make sure to install the appliances using appropriate spacers so that the fronts align flush. Installation aids from Ikea make this process much easier. Important: Never install the cooktop without the correct sealing, as this can cause damage to the countertop.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions!

Installation aids from Ikea make it much easier. That sounds interesting. Could you please explain in more detail which installation aids you mean? I have the instruction manual, but some practical tips for the detailed solutions would be great, for example, when adjusting the baseboard or how to align the fronts neatly with the appliances.
Also: How important is it to connect the appliances to the power supply beforehand, or is it better to wait until the entire assembly is complete? I don’t want to take any risks with the electrical work.
Hey Bueric, I built my Metod kitchen with appliances last year – here are a few casual tips:
- First of all: Take your time and don’t panic. If something doesn’t fit, adjust it again.
- For the baseboard: Ikea has clips that are easy to fix and hold very securely.
- Connect the appliances only after everything is in place and you are sure no more assembly work is needed on the cabinet.
- A quick tip for the cooktop: Follow the instructions for the seals carefully, as they are essential for protecting your countertop.
And by the way: With the first kitchen, you never realize you almost need to be a level master for alignment 😉 Good luck!
