This is actually the most important point that many people underestimate. I would add that, besides the surface itself, the alignment of the Metod cabinets is crucial. The baseboards are mounted onto the plinth panels, and if these panels are not exactly at the same height and at right angles, the baseboard cannot be installed properly.

Here, I recommend taking care with the miter cuts, as even slight inaccuracies become very noticeable on white baseboards. It is therefore worth making a test cut on a small scrap piece of wood before cutting the final baseboards.
