Hello everyone, I am currently looking into which spare parts for the Ikea Pax system are best to keep in stock to be able to respond quickly in case of a defect or wear. I am especially interested in which parts tend to cause the most problems or where it makes sense to prepare for wear without having to secure the entire system.

Specifically, I am interested in:
- Replacement hinges that often come loose or jam
- Suitable rollers or tracks for sliding doors
- Handles or front fittings that are easy to replace
- Assembly materials such as screws or clamping profiles

Perhaps you have experience with frequently ordered parts or recommendations on which spare parts are essential to have on hand to avoid long searches for orders if something breaks. Thanks for your advice!

Hi, I would keep hinges and the rollers of the sliding doors in stock. These are the most common wear parts. I also always have screws as spares.

Hello Eliseosan, your concern is very understandable, as the PAX system with its modular components can occasionally require maintenance or replacement. I recommend especially keeping an eye on the following spare parts:

- Hinges: These are heavily used and can become loose or defective over time. There are different versions, so it’s best to get spare parts that match your specific PAX model.

- Rollers/tracks for the sliding doors: When these wear out, you may notice disturbing noises or problems with the door movement. Having spare parts for these is important.

- Handle attachments: Screws or clips that sometimes break.

- Assembly materials such as screws, wall plugs (anchors), or possibly small plastic profiles used for stabilization.

In my experience, the service life of these parts is limited, and it’s definitely worth paying attention so you can carry out quick repairs yourself.

You should especially keep hinges, rollers, and screws for securing the door in stock. The rest usually lasts a long time.

I understand that you don’t want to constantly think about spare parts, but especially with large materials like PAX, it makes sense. Once, a hinge broke and I genuinely didn’t have a spare. That was frustrating because you then urgently need to schedule a time to get a replacement. A tip: keep a small set of rollers and hinges on hand—it provides peace of mind and reduces stress.

One of my hinges once broke, and I actually had no spare.

That’s exactly why I always keep a small emergency kit with hinges, screws, and rollers at home. The PAX systems are durable, but the parts do wear out over time.
