Hello everyone, I’m wondering how to quickly and thoroughly clean my IKEA Besta furniture. The furniture has a smooth, lacquered surface, and I want to avoid streaks or smudges. The surfaces are also sensitive, so I don’t want to use any harsh cleaners that could damage the finish. Does anyone have a tried and tested tip for achieving a particularly clean, streak-free surface in a short amount of time? Which cleaning products and tools are especially recommended? And are there any tricks to easily clean the corners and edges without much effort? I look forward to your practical experiences and suggestions!

For quick and thorough cleaning of IKEA Besta furniture, I recommend the following procedure: - First, use a mixture of lukewarm water and a mild dish soap. This is gentle enough to avoid damaging the painted surface. - It is best to use a microfiber cloth, as it does not scratch the surface and effectively picks up dirt. - For streak-free results, after wiping with a damp cloth, use a dry, clean microfiber cloth to buff the surface. - To reach corners and edges, a fine brush or cotton swab dipped in the cleaning solution works ideally. - Avoid aggressive cleaners, abrasive products, or harsh chemicals to protect the surface in the long term. It is important to work systematically and gently to prevent damage to the paint. This approach quickly achieves a clean and even result.

I couldn’t agree more! Microfiber cloths are really great for IKEA furniture! 🙂 I also rely on a spray cleaner with a mild alcohol content (based on isopropanol), which evaporates quickly and prevents streaks. It’s important not to spray too much and to work in small sections. And hey, remember that regular cleaning reduces the effort – then furniture cleaning becomes almost effortless. So grab the cloths and make your Besta shine again!

That may be true, but you need to be careful: not all Besta models use exactly the same materials or finishes, and some surfaces are sensitive to alcohol. Therefore, you should test on an inconspicuous area before applying it broadly. Additionally, I believe mechanical pressure during cleaning should not be underestimated. Cleaning solutions alone do little if you don’t physically remove dirt, but rubbing too hard can damage the finish. A balanced approach seems advisable to me. Are there any data on the long-term effects of these cleaners on Besta surfaces?
