At the moment, I’m dealing with the issue of where to put the bins. I don’t want to put them under the carport, but leaving them out in the open looks ugly.
We have now made a small concrete slab, but how the whole setup should look is still causing some “minor” disagreements.
How have you solved this? The standard bins are unfortunately too low. Is there a manufacturer who makes custom-sized ones?
Some may laugh, but this is slowly becoming a real point of contention for us...
I’ll try to upload a picture later.

Our trash bins keep getting moved around... now they are placed behind the garage. Previously, we had a similar enclosure for the bins in the driveway, which was wide enough... but over time, we didn’t find that attractive anymore either. However, I don’t think they will stay there long; we are already looking for a new place.
Hello,
we currently have four barrels in the garden. I don’t want that anymore at our new house.
I find gabions attractive and was thinking of a corner solution... there are also nice stainless steel containers, but those are of course quite expensive. If you have a lot of money to spare, you can also have an in-ground solution built with a kind of lift. I once saw this in a magazine.

Sorry, when I stay at home all day on the weekend, I regularly throw something away on the go. I don’t feel like waiting 30 seconds for my garbage bin to lift, nor do I want to collect all the trash in the house until I eventually lift the bin.
Not everything that is technically perfect and “clean” is also practical...

Not everything that is technically perfect and “neat” is also practical…A built-in trash bin is definitely a nice feature, but it’s quite an expensive gadget.
My wife always sorts the trash—so I can take it out later. Paper, residual waste (in a bucket or diaper pail), kitchen scraps for the compost, plastic for the bag. Gotta have my walks, otherwise I’ll just keep getting fitter.
